Australian Development Scholarships
- The Australia Awards initiative was announced by the Australian Prime Minister in 2009 and aims to maximise the benefit of the Australian Government’s extensive scholarship programs, and to support enduring ties between Australia and our neighbours.
The Australia Awards initiative brings the Australian Government’s scholarship programs together under the one Australia Awards brand. - In 2010-11, the Australia Awards program in Africa will provide both long awards (Australian Development Scholarships) and short-term awards to nationals from 25 countries across Africa.
- provides scholarships to students who wish to pursue a postgraduate degree (mainly Master’s degrees of one or two years) in either the United Kingdom or South Africa.
- The aim is to provide female students with scholarships that will equip them to take up leadership roles for the benefit of their community, nation and region. Applications to this UK administered programme are for courses in both South Africa and the UK, and will be considered for other relevant schemes if unsuccessful for this particular scheme.
Higher Education Master in Africa Programme (HEMA)
- A research based master programme focusing on the changing functions, policies, and operations of Higher Education, with a special emphasis on higher education in the developing world. Through the eyes of various disciplinary perspectives, the programme provides students with a solid basis for analysing and critically assessing change processes at all relevant levels in higher education.
FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
- offers annually a small number of Scholarships for postgraduate studies or research to graduates. The duration of the Scholarships is normally for up to three years at the discretion of Trustees. Scholarships are taken up at a University in the United Kingdom, Ireland or South Africa, for study in a subject of the individual’s choice appropriate to the needs of the beneficial area. In addition, a small number of one-year taught Masters degrees are offered at the University of Leeds, known as the Beit Chevening Leeds Scholarship and similar awards, known as the Beit Chevening Reading Scholarship, are also offered at the University of Reading.
Rhodes Scholarships in Southern Africa
- The Scholarship is for full-time study and pays your entire tuition fee. It provides you with a comfortable living allowance of £11,000 per year, and also pays the cost of transport for you and your necessary belongings to and from Oxford .
- There are ten Scholarships available in Southern Africa each year.
I am Griffith Mphenzi and am 32yrs writing from Malawi Africa, I have got a great will and desire to save God it has been my wish if I can be equiped and trainned to be a Pastor and work full time in the ministry. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior in the year 1986 and I have been preaching in various place ie schools, villages, market place etc and I have got the passion for christ but my inner most cry is to be equiped so that I can know christ more and more . So can it be possible for your organisation to sponsor me to go and attend the Bible School, a Bible school which teaches the truth about christ and that can really groom me for the ministry , I want to go to bible school for in the bible God says ‘ my people are perishing for the luck of knowledge ‘ so I want to be equiped with knowledge that I can go and speak the truth of Christ.
I am not intrested in handling the donation what I want is to be told is to go and attend classes where ever you fill like I can go and attend the bible school.Your assistance will surely be a seed to our nation for my wish and vision is to preach to the youths of our nation and neighbouring countries.

My name is Peter Mlera, Pastor for River of Life Evangelical Church. I am married to Agness and we have one child. I was born and grew up in a Christian home without really knowing Christ in a personal way. Some body shared me the good news and I realised that I was a sinner and that I could not save myself from my sin. I later realised that Christ came to reconcile me back to God. I in a simple prayer invited Christ into my life and He came in and saved my life. I completed my secondary education in 1996 and passed the examinations which I was a warded with a Malawi school certificate of education. In short after there I worked as a civil servant in parks and wild life in 1997-1999 as well as in several private companies and nongovernmental organisations (Development Aid from people to people from 2000-2001).
In 2001, I felt a calling to enter into full time ministering. By faith, I quitted my job and started ministering with River of Life Evangelical Church. I ministered in Blantyre in Chirimba Township from 2001 up to 2009. At this period, I managed to plant 3 churches. In July 2009 I was transferred to Lilongwe to start a new church. The lord led me well, I started the church which its current membership is at 22.
One thing that is frequently coming into my mind is the continuing of my theological training. I have a great desire to go to the Bible school and be trained on missions. The world is changing every day too with the mind set of people. The life of people is being modernised every time which I feel a need to be equipped again. The world is confusing a lot of people to the extent that others say they can’t join a church because it’s not Biblical. There are a lot of false teachings that are going around which I can not write them all.
This is the main reason that I feel like I should continue with my Theological studies. I only did certificate which I think I can advance to Diploma level.
In Malawi, there is Assembles of God School of Theology, which is offering week end classes for non residential. The Diploma course is K 3500/module. There are 10 modules per year and the course takes three years. My church is small and my headquarters can’t pay me because they have no money to support me. That is why I have taken an initiative of looking for well wishers upon my self.
In case you know individuals / families/ organisations/ Bible schools/ Churches/ ministries and fellowships, with passion to support, you may present my need to them. Depending on their wish I can send the Bible school’s details for their contacts before they go into any agreement with me.
