Malindi Mission

By Samuel

Greetings to you all through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This is to request for your prayer support for the forth coming Malindi Mission.

This mission has been planned by the Anglican Church of Kenya – Malindi Archdeaconery of the Diocese of Mombasa and Kahawa Sukari Baptist Church (Nairobi).

MALINDI TOWN: Is a coastal town about 600kms from Nairobi and about 200kms from Mombasa. It is a Christian minority town with the dominant religions being Islam and traditionalists (belief in witchcraft). In the recent past, Malindi has been in the news for high population of Italians doing cottage bussiness, hard drugs, small girls/pornography and one of the key figures in Al Qaeda movement escaped the anti-terrorrists police’s drug-net. Therefore, spiritually, Malindi is a place of spiritual war-fare. We need your prayers.

MISSION ACTIVITIES: we shall have the following activities:

  • Door-to-door and person-to-person evangelism – in the morning hours
  • Crusades – in the afternoons
  • Distribution of clothes to the needy
  • Seminars – during the day
  • Revival meetings – in the evenings
MISSION TEAMS: The team members for this mission are from:
  • St. Andrew’s Anglican Church- Malindi
  • Kahawa Sukari Baptist Church
  • Anglican Church Diocese of Kajiado
  • Anglican Church Diocese of Nairobi
  • The Samaritan Ark – Nairobi
PRAYER POINTS: Please partner with us in prayers for the following:
  • God’s provision for transport for each team member. Some of the members are not on permanent employment.
  • Journey mercies
  • Pray over the peace of Malindi and her people to be receptive to the Word of God.
  • Good health: Malindi is generally hot while the team members will be coming for cold areas.
  • Protection against demonic attacks
  • Annointing for pulling down strong holds in Malindi: witchcraft, drug addictions, immorality, islam etc
  • The Host
  • God’s grace in carrying out all the activities
  • Unity in the Spirit among the team members and the host.
  • Break through in every ministry.
  • Pray for God’s protection and provision for our family members and relatives we shall be leaving behind.
  • Attendance at the crusades, seminars and revival meetings
Dear Saint, we are counting on you to be our POWER HOUSE! Stand in the Gap for us! Lift your hannds to heaven as we wrestle in the battle field and above all: “PRAY ALSO FOR ME, THAT WHENEVER I OPEN MY MOUTH, WORDS MAY BE GIVEN ME SO THAT I WILL FEARLESSLY MAKE KNOWN THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL, FOR WHICH I AM AN AMBASSADOR IN CHAINS. PRAY THAT I MAY DECLARE IT FEARLESSLY, AS I SHOULD” (Eph 6:19-20).
MISSION REPORT

This is to thank you so much for being our power house during the Malindi Mission. We could not have done without your prayers. The mission was based at Mtangani within Malindi town and the team which travelled to Malindi for the mission was made up of 14 members.
These are just some of the high-lights of what happened:
1. During the doo-to-door evangelism, 50 people accept Jesus Christ for the first time as their Lord and Saviour and:
  • Several people re-committed their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Sick people were prayed for and some received instant healings
  • Those with demon possessions were delivered
  • Items for witchcraft were burnt
2. During the Crusades:
  • Several people gave their lives to Christ (unfortunately we did not record all)
  • People with various needs were ministered to.
  • Those possessed by demons were delivered.
  • Witchcraft items were burnt in the crusade.
3. During the Revival:
  • Those with both spiritual and physical needs were ministered to
4. De-worming of Children
  • On Saturday afternoon, we teamed up with the Malindi district hospital to de-worm the children
5. Prayers with the Malindi District Commissioner (DC) and Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD)
  • On Thursday 20th, August 2009, we had an opportunity to pray together with the Malindi District Commissioner
  • On Friday 21st August 2009, we had time to fellowship and pray with the Malindi OCPD.
6. Sunday Service:
  • The team was divided into groups which preached in three local churches of the ACK St. Andrew’s parish. At the St. Andrew’s church, there were three services. During the services, some got save (again we did not record all) and those possessed by demons were delivered.
Thank you so much for praying for us. All the members of the team travelled back on Monday morning and arrived in the evening safely.
WE GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE.
