Hi, I’m writing this message on behalf of my wife whom is Zambian and currently living in Lusaka. My wife finished Grade 12 in 2002 and hasn’t been back to any form of schooling since that time. I’m seeking information to help her refresh her grades and to get prepared for possible entry into university next year. Can you please advise on best path for her to accomplish this. Thank you, Brian

This is outdated. I’m very disappointed in whoever ranked those schools.. . The rating of schools should be according to their academic performance in the exams not this madness!!!. Hillcrest is the Top school in Zambia. TEAM HILLCREST 2014 EXIT

    The rating of
these schools should be according to there
academic performance in the exams, also how good the school is is in terms of sports.
There also needs to be a ranking of government schools only.

  28. Alice says

    November 22, 2013 at 12:39 pm

they rated them according to passing rates in the final exam. Yes both cambridge schools and Ecz schools were put together but fact of the matter is those international schools do produce good results in cambridge . And if we look at standards none of you would argue that they are the best. Anyway am proud of my school MPSS which ranked really well.

  29. anonymous says

    August 27, 2013 at 5:33 am

personally i think this rank is biased!how do you put ECZ LEARNING SCHOOLS with CAMBRIDGE LEARNING INSTITUTIONS !HONESTLY!!!i think they rated them according to school fees!!RATE FAIRLY!!

  31. Jane Chisanga says

    May 8, 2013 at 3:15 am

One thing most have overlooked when ranking these schools is what type of students do they enrol at grade 8 and 10 in terms of passing mark. Most of the so called good schools get students with the highest grades such that teachers do not have to put in a lot of effort in teaching. To me consideration in ranking should be based on schools that take in children with various academic challenges. If for example you have child who is of average intelligence (grades from C – D) but at the end of day she progresses to higher grades, only then will I give credit to the teachers and the school.

  32. paul chilo says

    April 26, 2013 at 12:57 pm

The rating of these schools should not be according to how high the school fees are as it is,it should be according to the high academic standards.Next time this should be better considered….hillcrest pupil.

It is a pity that some schools are not put on this list. However, looking at the products[graduate] of this schools being ranked at very good positions, they are not much to admire.who ever ranks this schools does not put in much effort, because a lot of good schools were left out from the list above but i am sure the next time i will check on this list i will be able to find Mikango High School.

  35. Noble mukuka says

I think kitwe boys should be on top most, followed by hill crest then david kaunda. I hope this will be so in few years to come

  36. Betty says

    December 21, 2012 at 6:09 am

Back in the day, Hillcrest and David Kaunda were considered to be the top schools in the country. I guess much can change in four years. I do agree with most of the schools listed though.

  37. Rumbani Kasimba says

    May 16, 2012 at 7:42 am

While I do accept the rankings especially from the infrastructural view point, I’m struggling to believe that schools like David Kaunda Technical High School would take the 11th position behind the 10 private schools. Can someone highlight the criteria used to rank these schools to enable parents make informed decisions?

halo. education systems in africa are not effective because they were designed by colonialists to serve their interests.i recommend for radical and total overhaul of all systems that are colonial based in africa.

  39. JOSEPH MWALE says

    January 24, 2012 at 2:24 pm

The schools that have been ranked are really schools that are doing fine with high standards of education, but a challenge is on the fees that many of the ranked schools have, low income getting people can not afford, hence need to look into this issue so hat at the end of it all development in africa is achieved, by sharing the cake of knowledge. At university of Lusaka were I am, it has good learning standards, but how to get those standards is a challenge, hence I really need these standards and it could be done through co-operation with other people.
