The Indian Government is offering forty three (43) Scholarships to Kenyans in both undergraduate and post graduate studies. They are in the following categories:

Eligibility
Undergraduate: Studies in the fields of B.Sc. LLB, and B. Com degree programmes.
- Minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B (Plain).
- Not more than 23 years of age.
- Strong grades on the major subjects that are key to the specialty preferred.
- Only those candidates who completed Secondary education in the last 3 years need apply.
Postgraduate: Studies open
Eligible candidates’ area only those who:
- Are serving the country in the Public Sector.
- Completed two (2) years of continuous service since their last degree studies
- Graduated in the last ten (10) years
- Are below 34 years for Masters and 44 years old for PhD. Programmes.
Note:
- For maters degree application one must have attained 1st class or Upper Second Class Honours degree from a recognized university.
- For PhD studies application one must be a holder of a masters degree from a recognized university
Application Procedure
Preliminary application forms are obtainable from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology Headquarters, Jogoo House “B” 8th Floor Room 801 or Provincial Technical Training Offices. The applications form can also be downloaded from the Ministry’s Website: www.scienceandtechnology.go.ke. Candidates for postgraduate studies should submit their applications through their heads of departments (HODS).
Completed application forms with attached certified photocopies of academic, professional certificates, transcripts, birth Certificate, school leaving certificate and other testimonials should be sent/delivered to:

This is good information. But this is the thing, so many Kenyan- Indian graduates have come to back to Kenya only to find that they cannot be employed. Employers do not give priority to Indian graduates. In fact while shortlisting their papers are just tossed out. So why are we still sending our children to India for university education?
