Global Health Medical Scholarships
The Global Health Medical Scholarships grants eight or nine scholarships annually. This program is in line with the organization’s educational element in their mission. The organization offers the scholarships to students with meritorious academic performance and strong interest to complete a medical degree. In order to get the scholarship, aspiring international and domestic MPH, MHS, and MS students in the Bloomberg School of Public Health will undergo a competitive process.
Latin American School of Medical Sciences Undergraduate Medical Scholarships – Cuba
The Cuba government is offering medical scholarships to students who are interested to achieve a medical degree. Cuba is offering the scholarship thru the Latin American School of Medical Sciences Undergraduate Medical Scholarships program. The scholarship is offered to high school graduates, between ages 18 to 25 years old, with disadvantaged backgrounds. The program is being offered to at least a minimum of 500 doctors annually. The Latin American School of Medical Sciences helps the students achieve their aspired medical degree through intensive advising and tutoring. Medical training in Cuba is a combination of theory and practice and is geared toward primary care, community medicine and hands-on internships. The medical school program is a six-year/12-semester program with the first two years being taken at the Latin American School of Medical Sciences while the rest of the semesters are being taken at Cuba’s 21 medical schools located throughout the Cuban islands. Interested candidates must gain the required points at the competency exams being offered in their line of study. For aspiring students to apply, they will need to register in the Latin American School of Medical Sciences (Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina – ELAM) through the different Cuban diplomatic missions in their respective countries.
Taipei Univeristy (TMU) Medical Scholarships
The Taipei Univeristy (TMU) Medical Scholarships is offered to international students who will pass the university requirements. The university will evaluate and screen each applicant according to: economic standing, scholastic performance, personality, leadership skills, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and other achievements. All these will be crucial for candidates to get the first year scholarship. Students will begin to receive their scholarship after they have enrolled and registered at TMU. Scholarship recipients will receive their scholarship starting from September to August of next year. Recipients will need to re-submit applications for scholarship each year. For eligibility of the scholarship for the succeeding years onwards, the university shall consider the students’ academic performance, international students’ activity attendance, working project attitude and financial condition.
Below are the different types of Taipei University Medical Scholarships:
- Medical Scholarship A: Includes a tuition waiver plus monthly stipend of NTD 25,000 for one year, scholars will need to shoulder insurance, rent and living expenses by themselves.
- Medical Scholarship B: Does not include tuition waiver, only monthly allowance NTD 25,000 for one year, scholars will need to shoulder insurance, rent and living expenses by themselves.
- Medical Scholarship C: Includes tuition waiver plus monthly stipend of NTD 12,000 for one year, scholars will need to shoulder insurance, rent and living expenses by themselves.
- Medical Scholarship D: Includes tuition waiver, but no monthly allowance, scholars will need to shoulder insurance, rent and living expenses by themselves.
