Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you should:

  • Be from an eligible country found in one of the listed Rhodes constituencies.
  • Have been resident in an eligible country for at least five years.
  • Be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2023 (i.e. have been born after 1 October 1996).
  • Have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2022.
  • Have a First Class Honours Degree or its equivalent, or a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree by July 2024 with an academic grade that meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements for your chosen full-time course at the University.

How do I Apply – Next Steps

  • Complete and submit the online application form.
  • You must apply for the Rhodes Scholarship before applying for your proposed course at the University of Oxford.
  • Once you are selected for the Rhodes Scholarship, you are then required to apply for your chosen course via the University of Oxford’s graduate application form.

  • Academic excellence
  • Energy and desire to use your talents fully
  • Truth, courage, and devotion to duty
  • Moral force of character

Required Documents

  • Birth certificate confirming that you meet the age criterion
  • A copy of your National ID or of a valid passport (with translation, if necessary), confirming that you meet the citizenship criteria
  • An official transcript from the college or university at which you are studying, or have studied, showing grades achieved to date
  • Certified copies of your primary and high school leaving certificates, and your high school academic certificate
  • Evidence of your English language skills if English is not your first language
  • A full curriculum vitae (CV) not exceeding two A4 (12pt font size) pages in length
  • An academic statement
  • A personal statement
  • A total of five referees
