 Scholarship Overview

  • The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals target individuals with ambition, leadership experience, and a strong professional background.
  • This scholarship is a fully-funded international scholarship program for master’s studies in Sweden.

What does the scholarship cover?

  • Tuition fees paid directly to the university by the Swedish Institute
  • Living expenses of SEK 10,000/month
  • A travel grant of SEK 15,000 given as a one-time payment
  • Membership of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders (NFGL) – a platform to help with professional growth and building of networks while in Sweden
  • Membership of the SI Alumni Network after the scholarship period
  • Insurance against illness and accident

How many scholarships are given?

  • 300 scholarships will be available for full-time master’s degree studies

  • Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras,

  • Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Sri Lanka,

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a country listed as eligible for the scholarship program
  • Have a minimum of 3000 hours of demonstrated work experience
  • Be liable to pay fees to Swedish higher education institutions or universities
  • Have followed all the steps to university admission
  • Have been admitted to one of the eligible master’s program by 9th April 2021
  • Should be able to demonstrate leadership experience from either a current or previous employer or civil society

How do I Apply – Next Steps

  • First, you must apply for and secure a place in a master’s program in Sweden by 1 February 2021.
  • Next, apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals.
  • Selection results will be finalized by 3 April 2021.
  • Wait for the final announcement listing the 300 successful applicants.
