- The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship targeting excellent students from both EU/EEA as well as non-EU/EEA countries who intend to apply for graduate studies (MSc) at the University of Twente.

What does the scholarship cover?
- Scholarship amounts range from €3,000 – €22,000 for one year.
- Students undertaking a two-year program can receive an additional UTS of an amount equal to what was received in the first year to cover the second year’s expenses, subject to meeting process requirements.

- Approximately 50 scholarships are available

Am I Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet all the requirements below.
- Obtain an admission letter to the Master’s program you have selected, as the application for a UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at the University of Twente.
- You must have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in the academic year 2023/2024 (from September). Note that after completion of your application, it may take at least 8 weeks for you to receive the results.
- You must have a student number.
- You should have not graduated from a UT undergraduate programme.
- You must comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable).
- You must comply with the general English language test requirement of Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.
- You should not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
- You should belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your class, as UTS is an excellence scholarship.
How Do I Apply – Next Steps
- First, apply for a Master’s program. After you receive a conditional/provisional admission letter, you can apply for the scholarship using your student number.
- After you submit your application, a confirmation of your application will show in the scholarship application system.
- Your scholarship application will then go through the nomination/rejection phase, after which nominated applications will be presented to the selection committee.
- One month after the deadline, application results will be published. Applicants will also receive an email informing them of the outcome of their application.
