- The VUFP scholarship is granted for a one or two-year Master’s program. It is only extended for the second year if 100% of the ECTS of the first year have been achieved.

Am I Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Hold a non-EU/EEA passport and not be eligible for a lower tuition fee.
- Not have Dutch nationality.
- Be able to prove your academic excellence with a GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8.
- Be conditionally or unconditionally admitted to the first year of a full-time English-taught Master’s program at VU Amsterdam starting from September 2023.
- Not have obtained your previous degree (the one you are using to seek admission at VU Amsterdam) in the Netherlands.
NOTE:
- You cannot apply for this scholarship if you are commencing studies in February 2023.
- You do not need to complete a preparatory program before the start of your Master’s studies.
How do I Apply – Next Steps
- Register for a Master’s program at VU Amsterdam before the application deadline.
- Submit your VUFP application.
- Wait for the decision from the Central VUFP Committee. All scholarship applications will be reviewed and then applicants will be nominated to the Central Scholarship Committee which will then award scholarships based on academic performance and motivation.
- The results will then be announced in Mid-March 2023.
- Selected candidates will then have 2 weeks (up to the end of March 2023) to accept or decline the VUFP scholarship offer.
