  1. am impressed of the ranking. But why cant u put Mukono Town Academy in the your list?

  2. i did not see a school called Eagles Nest Senior Secondary School. This school is in Kampala

  3. What criterion do use when ranking the schools?

  4. Sincerely how on earth could you put numbers6,7,8 and 9 in the list.you need to re check it and put what we are sure of; that is the old traditional schools are better

  5. YOU MISSED OUT ON A GREAT SCHOOL CALLED SEETA HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED AT SEETA MUKONO.

  6. eeeeeeeh mwe what of st henrys college kitovu. we are wondering what you people consider. talk of the best and mean it pliz let it be the best according to uneb starndards. i dont mean that shack is the best but i know it should appear some where. pliz dont be taken by politics and money. still shack will shout out for its self

  7. I dont understand the creteria used in ranking. How could you leave out Busiro Modern Academy

  8. which criteria do u use to rank schools? do u mean top 10 as per uneb standards or according to number of years the school has been in existence?
i never expected schools like makerere college, ntinda view, lubiri sss, lubiri high, london college(merryland),namilembe hillside, masaka sss, kibuli sss to miss. i would suggest u re-rank the schools this basing on uneb standards

  9. ksibante Didas says:

I am so disapionted to see schools like makerere college and you live ROYAL HIGH SCHOOL

  10. Uganda’s education is still lacking alot to produce the best whole round graduates. Ten top schools should include schools that have innovated alot in their school syllabus and have their graduates compete better in higher levels of academia and job market. Also rate of growth of the school in terms of academics and infrastructure is important. Most old traditional school dwell on admission of best candidates in the country to produce good results. God bless You.

  11. gillian lamunu says:

you guys amuse me.whatever criteria you use to mark “best” schools heaven knows but my idea is that the best school is one which takes a pupil with agregate 14 and passes him/her out with 8 for 8.how many of the schools listed do that?don’t they all take pupils with agregates 6 downwards? what efforts then do they put to qualify them as best schools?
secondly, are there no “best” schools up country? you should also reason in terms of Ntare, Nabumali and Layibi.

  12. With all due respect to the authors of the article, no matter what criteria you use, you can never come up with the above list as a list of the best schools in Uganda. I thought i would use the Internet as a viable tool to get a systematic ranking of Schools in Ug.

Using the traditional ranking system in Uganda which basically looks at the number of students passing in grade one, the top schools are publically and privately known. Kindly revise the list and explain clearly the procedure you use for ranking. The obvious names are St Matrys Namugongo, Kings Col Buddo, Gayaza Girls, Makerere Col School, Namilyango Boys, Kibuli sss, nabisunsa Girls e.t.c.

The Top schools listed here are merely International Schools which accomodate a variety of students from diplomatic and expatriate families, they maybe good based on their categorization but not by UNEB and Ugandan standards.

  13. wc criteria do u follow when ranking da schools? is it quality of life or quality of education?

  14. How cn u leave st.lawrence schools and colleges..get real guys,am nt a ugandan bt i bet ths school is the best…and largest with 5 campuses!

  15. hey! i was waiting to see the best schuls inrecent centuries but bad enough u brought the older
school that ma grand mom attended.i need to see LUBIIRI HIGH SCHOOL(luhisco)

  16. Criscent Tumuhaise says:

These are NOT rankings of the best schools in Uganda.

  17. Agodo Timothy says:

How authentic are these rankings? How can the three best undisputed schools;St.Mary’s College Kisubi, Uganda Martyrs SSS Namugongo and Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga not even appear?

  18. Ranking of the school should be based on
    1. The facilities availiable to facilitate quality education like lab, lib, sports centres among others
    2. Current and historical performance
    3. General conditions of leaving like accomodation, feeding among others
    4. The capacity of the school to accomodate students population
    5. Student Discipline.
    6. The product in the market. (output)
This require a comprehensive survey to collect data other subjective opinion. if the above is taken into consideration, King’s College Budo, Ntare School, Busoge College Mwiri, St Henrys Kitovu, Nabisunsa, Makerere college and Kibuli would the real list.

  19. wtf is this, where on earth is that so called “modern s.s” found. lol – Budo all the way
