I am not against Opuke ware but to be honest they are not heard here ,even at the old schools reunion they are no where to be found ,it all prempeh from the Ashanti region,Adisadel,Augasco,Botwe,pope jones,peters,Achimota,Presec,Aquinas,Accra aca Abugiss,wey hey,ROSES n Holly child we hear in the old skulls reunion.I know they are good but they dont make the airwaves hear as Prempeh does .

you are just very funny.even in recent years is only weh gey hey that has been able to compete with us in this country ghana go and ask .i won’t go far to prove you wrong i will just start from the previous years .In 2004 we were 2nd in wassce prempeh college was on the 15th position go and ask .presec on 19thposition achimota 14th so why do you even compare prempeh with us in terms of wassce .in 2008 we beat them in the science and maths quiz quarter finals 96-46 it never happened in the quiz bfore .2006 1st in wassce 2007 first again .weh gey hey had 99.4% we had 97.9% but it was bcos of the number we presented so we were put first .In 2008 owass and amass had 100% pass in the wassce.record .even in 2009 i didn’t really know what happened but the chancelor of KNUST SAID AS USUAL THE TOP FIVE SCHOOLS HAVE MADE IT AGAIN TO PRESENT 71% IN THE ENTIRE CANDIDATES INTO MEDICINE.AND THESE SCHOOLS WERE OPOKU WARE SCHOOL,PRESEC PREMPEH ,WESLEY GIRLS ,AND ACHIMOTA .WHERE WERE THE REST? i just don’t want to go far to kill ur spirit so please check records well.no school in ghana here has gone to finals of the national science and maths quiz severally than owass we have won two.ask presec that with all that they have won, which skul were they with in the final and they nwill tell u is the opoku ware school .take notes ok

Why are schools like aquinas trying to battle it out with owass. Aquinas is definately not in the league of owass. Owass is high up with schools like presec, saint peters, wesley girls, prempeh, louis, mfantsipim and just a few. Aquinas try to find your lower league.
I don’t understand why Owass is crying foul.Make your case and stop attacking other schools.Which ever way you see it Aquinas has more media attention and recognition than Owass you can’t deny that.Diplomacy is one of the reasons of conspicuously making your presents felt.Owass does not have that and Aquinas has it .If you search through the internet and other high schools web sites,Owass are hardly mentioned sometimes you even forget about their existence as a force in Ghanaian education .Prempeh college has completely over shadowed Owass and no one can deny to this fact.

Prempeh is the academic home of more than 1600 young men, of whom approximately 80% are boarders. The college has a parent body (PTA) and Old Boy’s Association (AMANFOO).The school was established in February 1949 by the then Gold Coast government in collaboration with the Methodist and Presbyterian missionaries and also the Ashanti Royal Kingdom.In 1949, 50 boys from Mfantsipim School and their headmaster Rev. Sidney N. Pearson commenced the great college, the school is modelled on Eton in the United Kingdom.
The College was incorporated into the Asante Confederacy by Asantehene Sir Osei Agyemang Prempeh II, it has produced most of the men who compose the mass of our Chieftancy institution – From Kumawuhene, Essumajahene, Akyerensuahene, Akyempemhene of Asante, Akyempemhene of Akyem, the late Okyehene, Asuonwunhene, New Dwabenhene, Adansihene, to Mamponghene, and many more. Even the current Asantehene, King Osei Tutu II, enrolled at Prempeh before transferring to another school.
Prempeh College has produced doctors in Ghana. According to the Registrar of the University of Ghana, by 1974 Prempeh College had sent more students to medical school in Ghana than any other school. In one year, 1967/68 nearly all our A-Level Science students went to Medicine (which records?). In 1967 June A-Levels, all 25 candidates presented for the A-Levels in Science qualified for admission to the University of Ghana. All the 100% candidates received two or more passes which qualified them for the University entry. 10 obtained four principal passes, 10 three passes and 5 two passes. There were in all 10 distinctions in a total of 10 distinctions on both Science and Arts. Nearly all of them went to Medical School.
Among these are Dr. Akosah, the immediate-Past President of Ghana Medical Association and Director-General of the Ghana Health Service; Dr. Asamoa-Baah, W.H.O. Assistant Director General in charge of Communicable Diseases who has global responsibilities in the health delivery system throughout the world; Dr. Asafo-Adjei, former CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital; Dr. K.O.
